Why is this area popular? Location, Location, Location!
It is a combination of homes and townhouses built in the 70's, 80's, mid 90's and newer homes built since 1980, with a large proportion being built since 2000. Children can walk to all three levels of school within 10 minutes. These schools include: Highland Secondary School, Cape Lazo Elementary School and Brooklyn Elementary. The French Immersion elementary school (Ecole Robb Road) is no more than a 4 minute drive. In the neighbourhood there are a couple neighbourhood parks. The newest is at the top of Beckton Drive - a 2.5 acre green space with playground equipment, trees and room to roam for children and dogs.
For active families, one can walk to the beaches of the Comox pennisula and the trails and parkland of the North East Woods and the bird sanctuary. The Comox Recreation Department is a 3 minute drive and the marina and Comox Golf Course is a 5 minute drive.
